Lush Fresh Face Masks Review: Brazened Honey and Mask of Magnaminty

Source: lushusa.com

I have been wanting to try out Lush's fresh face masks for a while because they just look like so much fun and I've had great experiences with their other products (particularly the Herbalism face mask and the super moisturizing massage bars). So I decided to give Brazened Honey and Mask of Magnaminty a try at my recent trip to Lush.

Brazened Honey

Brazened Honey is described online as "stimulating," which is incredibly vague, so I didn't really know what I was getting myself into with this one. I loved the way it felt when it was on my skin - fresh and cold. As the mask dries it has a tightening feeling to it, which I love because it makes it feel like it's working.

Once you take off Brazened Honey, you're left with a fresh, clean, and moistureized feeling. It was great! Unfortunately, I now completely understand what they mean by "stimulating." Brazened Honey reaches deep down and gets all of the dirt out of your skin. In my case, however, it didn't eliminate the dirt. I have this one area on my cheek that has been broken out lately and Brazened Honey irritated it further and gave me a huge blemish 2 of the 3 times I used it.

Even though I didn't have an all around fantastic experience with Brazened Honey, I am going to give it another shot in the future. I have tried three masks since then and nothing has made me feel like I got both a deep clean and a lot of moisture put back in my skin. My face was just so happy immediately after trying this one, that I have to give it another go. That said, I am never, ever using this product again while any area of my skin is in questionable condition.

Oh, Mask of Magnaminty, what a savior you are! I got a free sample of this from Lush with my purchase since they were out of the smaller size, but I will certainly be buying a small size of this in the future. Mask of Magnaminty is a clay mask, so it also has that nice, tightening feeling. All of the mint makes it smell amazing and also gives your skin this tingly, clean feeling.

The first time I used it, my skin felt refreshed. The times I've used it since then have been a bit more sparingly since I only have a sample and I knew I needed to extend how long I'd be able to use it. Why you ask? Because it turns out to be a great spot treatment! Remember that trouble area on my cheek that was made much worse by Brazened Honey? Mask of Magnaminty fixed that! In just a few days my cheek looks significantly better. Not only did it fix the damage caused by Brazened Honey, but it improved my cheek situation overall.
